Large rectangular oak chest with hinged top, iron strapping and brass plate inscribed “Captn A.L. MacLeod”. Each side has two iron carrying handles. Measures 27” high; 42” wide; 25” deep. Wonderful condition inside and out. Would make an ideal coffee table or sofa end table for a great room with a nautical motif...and with storage space to boot! Acquired by English couple in Harrogate Yorkshire 15 years ago, and sold at Portsmouth NH maritime specialty auction in 2002.
