Two hand painted color magic lantern slides signed Carpenter & Prestly, Regent Street, London. The first is an outstanding color image of a whaling boat being overturned by a whale captioned "Dangers of the Whale Fishery". Image of second slide is a view of a man in bed - the hand winder makes a mouse (on a second rotating glass pane) go up the bed, over the man and back down again. The tip of the winder piece has partly broken off, but it still turns. Great color on this one as well.
