Two 9” steel construction mechanical “no - yes” monkeys (bellhop and waiter), probably of German manufacture and early 20th century vintage. Both have fully articulated arms, legs, and head. Head movement on both monkeys is controlled by the tail.
The bell-hop, dressed in a short red tunic, black pants, red boots and red cap with tassel (all in velvet), is in very good condition, with a full range of “no” and “yes” head movement mechanics. Ears and tail fur are intact. Thinning of fur on back of head is only noticeable with close inspection.
The waiter, dressed in short black cloth tunic, white cloth shirt, and white leather shoes, is in only fair condition. It has a full range of mechanical “no” head movement, but limited “yes” movement (probably repairable). Both ears are also missing. One price for both reflects the difference in condition.
