Early 20th Century J. D. Mason Company (Baltimore, Maryland) “Fine, Fancy Biscuit” box measuring 14 1/4" deep, 9 1/8" high and 23 3/8" long.

The pictures above do not due this piece justice. Outside wood and label coloration is nicely muted. A sturdy box; the crack in the top is stabilized and adds character. The lid has original but sturdy hinges held in place with old nails. Good shape for its age.

Outside wood and the front label are wonderfully aged and muted. The front label has normal wear and tear damage (shown in the pictures above), but the words are complete and readable. The label inside the flip-top lid is rippled with age, but shows more vivid coloration than the outside. Both sides of the box have the word “Crackers” impressed into the wood.

Truly a nice find. This piece needs to be displayed lid-open and prominently placed.
